Hughes made his mark as soon as he arrived in Buffalo, recording 10 sacks during his first year despite starting just one game. He followed this up with another double-digit sack campaign in 2014.

However, the former first round draft pick may be set to take his game to another level this season. At least that’s the prognosis if last week’s game in Baltimore is anything to go by.

To say Hughes was all over the field, would be an understatement. He finished with six total tackles — including two for a loss — two sacks, two quarterback hurries and a vital fourth-down stop.

A major part of the reason for the 28-year old’s early success comes down to changing positions. The Bills moved him to left outside linebacker, meaning he no longer has to go up against premium athletes at the left tackle position.

Ryan’s thinking is that Hughes can now use his athleticism to create havoc and make more plays. It may be only one game, but so far so good and Bills fans will be looking for more of the same against the Jets.
