2) Aaron Sanchez looking to return to his dominating best

Everyone’s heard the saying about not fixing something if it isn’t broken. Look no further than how the Blue Jays have dealt with Sanchez recently.

Maybe it’s a coincidence, maybe it’s not, but ever since the organization decided to go to a six-man rotation, the 24-year old appears to have gone off the boil. In Aaron’s three starts since the move, he has recorded an ERA of 5.29 and even picked up just his second loss of the season.

Again, this could all be coincidence, but you have to wonder how Sanchez’s mindset has been affected by all the talk of him needing an innings limit. Regardless, he was recently sent down to the minors to curtail his workload.

The 2010 first round draft pick has now rejoined the Blue Jays, and he jumps right back into action for Wednesday’s rubber game against the Orioles. It will be interesting to see how the rest has impacted him, with the front office obviously hoping he can return to the form which he has displayed for most of the season.
