5) How far will they go in the playoffs?

Regardless of all the other storylines we’ve discussed, this is the one which matters most, to both the team and the fans. After being one of the worst teams in MLS for the majority of their existence, TFC are now pretty much a model franchise.

Further, the Reds may never be better-placed to win the MLS Cup. They have the league’s best player and one of the deepest rosters, as well as a home-friendly schedule the rest of the way.

Of course, this doesn’t guarantee anything in the world of professional sports. Let’s be honest, did anyone really think the Portland Timbers would win it all, when the playoffs started last year?

Overall though, this doesn’t change the fact Toronto FC have an excellent chance to reward their long-suffering fans. This is the moment they’ve been waiting for – now we wait to see if they have what it takes to grab the opportunity in front of them.
