5) Will Alexander Nylander start the season in Buffalo?

In the grand scheme of things, this is the least pressing question which needs answering. In truth, it really comes more from general intrigue, that anything else.

In theory, as is often the case with most draft picks, Alexander Nylander would be better served starting the upcoming season in Rochester. However, you could argue we’re not dealing with your typical prospect here.

Consider that this year’s eighth overall draft pick made an excellent impression at training camp, probably due to the influence of William Nylander. Certainly, the advice of his older brother seemed to pay off, as the 18-year looked extremely comfortable and already appears to be the Sabres’ best penalty taker.

Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter too much if Nylander is on the Sabres’ opening day roster or not. However – and yes, we’re aware of the unique circumstances that surrounded it – the team won’t entirely be against the idea if Nylander proves himself in camp, as they showed last year with Eichel.
