2) Is Robin Lehner ready to step up?

It’s fair to say the jury is still out on Robin Lehner. For every person who has high hopes for him, there is someone else who is not convinced he’s the answer between the pipes for the Sabres.

On the plus side, Lehner has the size and quickness you look for in your prospective number one. However, at times he gets flustered in high pressure situations – not exactly a good sign.

In theory, this issue could be resolved by more playing time, but that in itself presents an issue where the 25-year old is concerned. Even though this will be his seventh season at the NHL level, he has been limited to 97 starts, due in part to durability issues.

Overall, Lehner is a talented goaltender with some upside. However, if he can’t stay healthy, it won’t count for much, meaning he may want to avoid situations such as this:
