1) The continued development of Tyrod Taylor

Ultimately, no matter how improved the other four elements are, it won’t mean much, if Tyrod Taylor doesn’t perform. This starts, with proving last season wasn’t a one-off.

Objectively speaking, the signs are there that Taylor has what it takes to succeed in the NFL. He offers a dual-threat a lot of other quarterbacks don’t, as evidenced by throwing for over 3,000 yards, while adding another 500 on the ground.

Of course, this is countered by a need to improve certain aspects of the 27-year old’s game, including his consistency and effectiveness in the red zone. In fairness though, last season did represent his first chance to be a regular starter and that invaluable experience alone, should help in the areas mentioned.

Overall, confidence is high in a player who has previously shown his ability to handle the big games at the college level. Taylor is the number one key to ending the playoff drought and as long as he makes the necessary improvements, expect the Bills to finally return to postseason action.
