Buffalo Bills: 5 Reasons They Will Finally Return to the Playoffs
By Paul Taylor
3) The rejuvenation of LeSean McCoy
The Bills and their fans had every right to be excited, when they acquired LeSean McCoy early last year, in exchange for Kiko Alonso. After all, they were getting a two-time First-team All-Pro, who was just one season removed from leading the NFL in rushing and all purpose yards.
Unfortunately for everyone concerned, things didn’t go quite as planned, as McCoy battled injuries throughout last season. And this was before we even got to the off-field issues, which included alluding to racism, planning ‘women only’ events and being involved in a bar brawl in Philadelphia.
Fortunately, for both the four-time Pro Bowler and the Bills, the most recent incident appears to have been a wake up call for him. Now he is focused on being a better team leader, motivated by a lengthy conversation with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, along with the support he received from Bill co-owner, Terry Pegula.
Of course, this will only be part of the battle for McCoy, who will also be looking to see a return to form on the field. Considering he had nearly 900 rushing yards in just 12 games, if he can remain relatively healthy, we’re predicting a big bounce-back season for one of the top runners in the game.
