With the Blue Jays only paying $5 million of Upton’s remaining $22 million contract, it’s hard not to like this trade from the Blue Jays’ perspective. The 31-year-old Virginia native now provides the Blue Jays with an affordable outfielder who is not only under control for next season, but also brings great defence and a nice combination of speed and power to their lineup.
