With the NHL draft fast approaching, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be busy once again with the first overall pick in the 2016 draft and many other storylines during the offseason.

The past couple of offseasons have been very busy for the Toronto Maple Leafs. This one will be no different.

One of the main reason for this is because of the Leafs having the first overall draft pick. With that selection, the Leafs will get their choice of the best players in the draft, as they try to push the rebuild forward.

It all starts with the draft on Friday June 24 in Buffalo, at the First Niagara Center. After that, Leafs fans should find the next few months to be more enjoyable than what they went through the past couple of years.

In the first of a new series, we take a look at some of the Leafs storylines which will dominate the headlines in the coming months. We start with a look at the first overall draft pick.
