1) Will Marcus Stroman hold up as the new number one?

Looking over towards the Boston Red Sox dugout in Montreal this weekend, you see a reminder of what could have been. In that respect, there’s no denying David Price will be missed in Toronto.

However, the Blue Jays are hoping Stroman can grow into the role as staff ace, IF he remains healthy. This also assuming he doesn’t suddenly experience a Ricky Romero-type dive in production. (Just a personal, baseless-concern on my part.)

For what it’s worth, the likes of Price and Pedro Martinez believe the 24-year old is destined for greatness, making note of attributes such as his work ethic, personality and, of course, his skill level. When pitchers of that caliber speak, you have to sit up and take notice.

Certainly, you cannot question the Stroman’s desire, when you consider the amazing recovery from his ACL tear last season. Now, with a bit of luck, it’s up to him to prove his worth at the top of the rotation.
