Point Guard – Kyle Lowry

Career numbers in Toronto: 16.7 PPG, 6.8 APG, 4.8 RPG, .414 FG%

Best All-Star Performance: 2014 – 10 points, 8 assists, 4 steals in 25 minutes

It’s sad to say, but if Kyle Lowry had not made the All-Star team last season, there actually wouldn’t have been a player to select at this position!

But Lowry took the sign that the Raptors were willing to invest in him by not trading him to the New York Knicks the season before, and turned it into the best campaign any point guard has ever had in franchise history.

Averaging 17.8 points per game to go along with 6.8 assists, Lowry put the team on his back for the first half of the season while his wingman, DeRozan, was out due to injury.

Lowry’s efforts kept Toronto either at or near the top of the eastern conference during that entire stretch, something that nobody around the league saw coming.

Unfortunately, the second half of the season and playoffs were a wash, as the team struggled to play any defence, and were eventually swept out of the first round by a lower seeded team, the fourth time that has happened in franchise history.

The Raptors will be looking to rectify those mistakes once again this season, and with Lowry having his best statistical season yet, a lot of how this all plays out will rest on his now considerably slimmer shoulders.
