Even with low expectations this season the Toronto Maple Leafs have not operated on the down low and that will probably continue as the season progresses.

Before the season began, Toronto Maple Leafs‘ fans became well aware of the pain that head coach Mike Babcock alluded to when he spoke for the first time in front of fans and the media.

The team traded star winger Phil Kessel to the Pittsburgh Penguins and brought in players on one year deals as possible trade bait for the trade deadline. On paper the Leafs roster is not a talented group and it showed early in the season as the team struggled to manufacture wins because of a lack of offence and goaltending.

There has been a lot to talk about with this Leafs team and there will be a lot to talk about heading into the new year.

Although there are a number of storylines to sift through, here are 10 storylines that you should follow as the season moves on.
