While Toronto Raptors fans knew there was every possibility it would happen, the news that Lou Williams is leaving still comes as a slight shock. As reported by thescore.com, he has signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Williams may have only spent one season with the Raptors, but what a season it was. He averaged a career-high 15.5 points per game, with all 80 of his appearances coming off the bench.
The 28-year old set a career-high with 152 three-pointers, and led or tied for the team lead in scoring 18 times. His influence on the Raptors was invaluable, as he led Toronto with a 86.1 free throw percentage.
To top off a remarkable season, Williams became the first Raptors players to be named NBA sixth man of the year. In honor of “Sweet Lou”, here are five highlights* from his time in Southern Ontario.
* Please note for the record that this list is restricted to highlights on the court. Otherwise, we all know that the news he had two girlfriends would have easily been number one.
