Both dunks were jaw dropping, turning point kind of dunks that made you scrunch up your face as if you just bit into a lemon. Picking between the two was basically like choosing between driving a Lambo or a Ferrari: you win either way. I’ll go the diplomatic route and chalk it up as a tie (and because I can watch either of these dunks over and over).
Ross is one of the top dunkers in the league. Kenneth “The Manimal” Faried must’ve forgotten that when he tried to challenge T-Ross’ attempt back in January. The Manimal made the bad decision, T-Ross made the poster and the Raptors bench completely lost their minds. Relieve the moment over here.
James Johnson has quietly been putting dudes on posters all season, but his submission for Dunk of the Year most definitely put the league on notice. Just how nasty was JJ’s dunk on Andre Drummond? Well not only did it put the crowd at the ACC West Palace of Auburn Hills into a frenzy, it caused quite a scuffle when Andre Drummond drilled Johnson in the chest a couple plays after. If you ask me, the only thing better than the dunk itself was Johnson’s post-game interview.
