With both of the Conference Finals matchups in progress, we know one thing for certain – at least one former Toronto Maple Leafs player will have their name etched on Lord Stanley’s mug this June.

Special Mention

Dave Nonis: Anaheim scout/consultant to the GM (Toronto Maple Leafs GM 2013-2015)

Not sure whether a man in Nonis’ role gets a ring, but nonetheless, Anaheim is in a position to win the cup, so Nonis gets a mention on this list.

Frank Corrado: Pittsburgh (Leafs 2015-2016)

Corrado is finally free, but, barring an injury, won’t factor into the Pens run now.

Petter Granberg: Nashville (Leafs 2013-2015)

Granberg has played most of the season in the AHL. He’s in the same boat as Corrado

Now, to the contenders by team:

Pittsburgh Penguins:

Phil Kessel – Forward (Leafs 2009-2015)

Kessel is a Stanley Cup Champion, and he has a chance at back-to-back championships. He was the beating heart of the Leafs offence when he was with the team. Although he was categorized as a pure sniper, he finished his Leafs career with more assists than goals. He also has more helpers in his Penguins career.

If he gets his second ring this year, it would be safe to say he could have as many hot dogs as he wants without anyone raising an eyebrow.

Nashville Predators:

P.A. Parenteau – Forward (Leafs 2015-2016)

Parenteau had his career high in goals last season and finished second in team scoring. He signed a contract with the New York Islanders before being waived without playing a game for them. He ended up in New Jersey, where he spent the majority of this season. Parenteau was moved to the Preds at the trade deadline.

He’s only featured in two games in the postseason, but hopefully, he can play a part over the next two rounds.
