Training camp may still be a month away, but there’s plenty for the Buffalo Sabres to contemplate, ahead of the 2016-17 season.

You get the feeling the 2016-17 regular season can’t come soon enough for the Buffalo Sabres. Certainly, the anticipation surrounding the team is the highest its been for a several years.

In that respect, the future looks very promising for the franchise. And if anyone deserves it, it’s the Sabres fans, after all they’ve been through in recent seasons.

However, despite all the promise, this doesn’t mean the team is certain to challenge for a playoff spot this coming season. In fact, they are a number of uncertainties which need answering, before the Sabres are officially back to being a contender.

With this in mind, here are five questions we have regarding the Sabres, as the countdown continues to training camp. (Keep in mind that some are more pressing than others, but they all still have a part to play in the progress of the team.)
