The Buffalo Bills saw their season end with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and it was revealed that receiver Cole Beasley played through a broken fibula.

Beasley said that he was dealing with the injury throughout the playoffs and that it was not bad enough to keep him out of the lineup. Of course, this is not something that should be overlooked as it takes a lot of toughness to play through an injury like that.

"“There was no way I was gonna miss a playoff game,” Beasley said about the injury. “It was bad the first game I played but after that, you take a few meds and suck it up.”"

Against the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Wild Card Weekend, Beasley had seven receptions for 57 yards, then rebounded from an unproductive game against the Baltimore Ravens to get 88 yards on seven catches. It’s crazy to think that Beasley could still be productive with the injury which shouldn’t be overlooked.

Luckily for Beasley, this injury won’t require surgery so it certainly doesn’t seem as severe but a broken bone in the leg is still not an easy thing to overcome for a receiver. This should also mean that Beasley’s offseason routine will be altered a bit, but not as significantly since he doesn’t need to have surgery.

Despite the addition of Stefon Diggs, Beasley almost reached 1,000 receiving yards as he finished with 967 yards and four touchdowns. If he didn’t miss Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins, it would be safe to assume he could’ve gotten the 33 yards he needed to reach 1,000 yards.

Earlier in the season, we noted how vital Beasley was playing a crucial role in the Bills offense and was being overshadowed by Diggs. Obviously, Diggs was the featured weapon in Buffalo but Beasley’s ability to dependably produce a high number of receptions makes him a key part of this offense going forward.
