The Toronto Raptors are at a crossroads this offseason: do they bring back a roster that is clearly not good enough to beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, but able to compete in a depleted Eastern Conference, or do they blow it up and begin rebuilding?

By the sounds of it, the Raptors’ front office is going to stay the course and continue to try to build a contender. The team is coming off consecutive 50-win seasons, but the roster needs to improve if they want to challenge the Cavs.

The problem for Toronto, however, is cap space. The team doesn’t have a lot of financial wiggle room and they need to bring back the likes of Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, P.J. Tucker and Patrick Patterson. Unfortunately, unless they decide to pay deep into the luxury tax, this core will not return next season.

Instead, the Raptors will look to bring in players who will not only provide them with financial flexibility, but also an opportunity to win. With that in mind, here’s a look at three free agents the Toronto Raptors could pursue this offseason.
