As Toronto FC count down to the start of the regular season, we consider four questions that will need answering during 2017.

If it doesn’t feel that long since the MLS season finished, that’s because it isn’t. It’s actually less than two months since Toronto FC suffered their heartbreaking loss to the Seattle Sounders and yet here they are, already preparing for the 2017 campaign.

In one respect, this shows the MLS season last too long. Players deserve more time to rest and recover, especially those involved in the playoffs.

On the other hand, you imagine TFC are eager to get going again, so they can erase the demons from their first ever appearance in the MLS Cup final. What better way to do this, than getting back out there on the field?

Despite just narrowly missing out on the ultimate glory in MLS, Toronto FC are surprisingly only sixth-favorites to win it all in 2017, with odds of 11-1. Interestingly, the LA Galaxy are favorites at 11-2, while the Sounders are fourth, at 7-1.

Of course, it isn’t always a good idea to rely on sports betting sites to decide how you think you team is going to do – it’s what happens on the pitch, that matters. With this in mind, here are four questions TFC need to answer, on their quest to win the MLS Cup this coming season.
