Toronto FC: Dwayne De Rosario Nominates Tim Leiweke for Ice Bucket Challenge

Another day and another Ice Bucket Challenge accepted – this time by Toronto FC midfielder Dwayne De Rosario. To be fair, I’m actually impressed with the 2011 MLS Most Valuable Player getting involved.

Let’s be honest, soccer players aren’t exactly renowned for their toughness, especially when compared to their NHL and CFL counterparts. However, De Rosario decided to step up to the plate, and follow the likes of Dion Phaneuf and Chad Owens in pouring icy water over his head.

Along with Owens, that is one of the best/funniest reactions I’ve seen yet to someone pouring icy water over themselves. And I say that, fully admitting I couldn’t do it myself.

Of more importance (albeit not as much as the actual raising of awareness and funds for ALS), is who De Rosario nominated for the Ice Bucket Challenge. He wasn’t kidding about going big with his selections, with the added nice touch of giving them a 24-hour time limit.

The question is, who’s most likely to step forward out of Thierry Henry, Drake and Tim Leiweke? Gentlemen, the clock has started ticking…
