Toronto Argonauts' Chad Owens Accepts Ice Bucket Challenge

It appears the Ice Bucket Challenge has caught the attention of the Toronto Argonauts’ Chad Owens.

I’m assuming he was inspired after seeing the likes of the Toronto Maple Leafs Dion Phaneuf and Tyler Bozak take on the “ordeal” of having icy water dumped over their heads.

In case anyone out there still isn’t aware, the challenge is being done to help raise awareness and funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. However, I suspect Owens also wanted to prove anything NHL players can do, their CFL counterparts can do better.

You have to love Owens’ initial reaction after the ice water is first poured over him. At least the 2012 CFL Most Outstanding Player recovered sufficiently to give out a hearty, “Woah!”

It will be interesting to see if any of the people Owens nominated will also be prepared to take up the challenge. Of course, I’m sure all CFL players, coaches and fans alike would love to see Commissioner Mark Cohon accept the request.

Let us know what your think of the Ice Bucket Challenge, including Owens reaction, in the comments section below.
