Toronto FC: Michael Bradley Starts All-Star Game

This has been a strange season for Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley. In theory, he has enjoyed a fine year to date, playing in the World Cup Finals and leading the charge to finally end TFC’s playoff drought.

However, Bradley has still endured seemingly unfair criticism from various sections of the fan base as well as the media. For my money the American, while maybe not at his best, has still been in excellent form.

In that respect, it comes as no surprise that www.mlssoccer.com has confirmed Bradley will be in the MLS All-Star starting XI for tonight’s game against Bayern Munich. The 27-year old has 12 starts this season including one goal, this fine effort from a tight angle against the Columbus Crew:

This in the eleventh time the MLS All-Stars have played international competition in the All-Star Game. The MLS All-Stars have a 7-3-1 record to date, outscoring their opponents 20-19.

Overall, this is the 19th consecutive MLS All-Star Game. Tonight’s match is taking place at Providence Park, home of the Portland Timbers.
