Sizing Up the 2014-15 Eastern Conference’s Potential
Who is the Eastern Conference favourite going into next season? Many experts can’t answer this simple question, but more importantly, from a Toronto sports perspective, we must wonder, where do our Toronto Raptors rank? They should return to the playoffs, yes, but where from there? Can they go even further than last season?
With LeBron James leaving Miami, almost everybody in the East seems to have a chance in the 2014-15 season. Ah, yes: parity. Well, mostly everyone has a chance… perhaps omitting Milwaukee from the conversation, but even they must be more excited than last year (everything is relative, right?). But “mostly everybody” has a strong case for their team. Maybe we should review the competition in order of how they finished last season to get a better sense of where our Raptors and the other Eastern Conference teams look going into the season?
Moving forward, this column will be a regular feature looking at the NBA’s 2014-15 Eastern Conference and projecting the finish of each team so be sure to return soon and often!
