Blue Jays Jose Bautista & Mark Buehrle Announced to the American League All-Star Team

The rosters for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game were announced tonight. While Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista headlines the game as the leagues leading vote getter, starting pitcher Mark Buehrle and first basemen Edwin Encarnacion will join him in Minnesota. After Edwin Encarnacion was carried off the field last night, his status for the All-Star Game will certainly be in question.

Even though the Summer Classic has lost some of its allure, the announcement of three Toronto Blue Jays to the American League roster comes as a bright spot for a team currently struggling. After being in first place for the better half of this season, the Blue Jays have free fallen in the AL East standings and now currently sit two games back of the Baltimore Orioles.

With the MLB All-Star Game still just over a week away, I’m sure both the Blue Jays and their fans alike anxiously await a much-needed break in the season.
