Dwane Casey Finishes 5th in 2013-2014 Coach of the Year Voting


Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey was a huge part of the team’s turn around from the 6-12 start to the season to winning the Atlantic Division and securing the 3rd seed to return to the post season for the first time in 6 years. In his 3rd season as the Raptors head coach, Casey finished with the best record in franchise history, 48-34.

The 2013-2014 NBA Coach of the Year Award was announced Tuesday afternoon, and San Antonio Spurs head coach, Gregg Popovich won his 3rd award–and 2nd in 3 seasons.

Dwane Casey was thought to be in the running for the award as well, but he finished 5th overall in the voting with 70 points (5 1st place votes, 9 2nd place votes, and 18 3rd place votes.
