The Toronto Blue Jays are set to begin spring training games in the Grapefruit League on Wednesday beginning with a back-to-back against the Philadelphia Phillies, followed by a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday, and the Baltimore Orioles Saturday.
Yesterday the starting pitching rotation order was announced for the first week of Spring Training, which will see starting pitchers being eased into their regular season form by pitching an expected 1-2 innings each on the mound. Each pitcher will usually be on a predetermined pitch-count at these early stages of spring training. In addition to the starters, certain relievers are also expected to pitch in each of the first four games.
