Conflicting reports about Toronto Raptors' intent with Kyle Lowry

ESPN’s NBA Insider, Chad Ford had a chat on SportsNation with fans on Wednesday afternoon, and one topic that was brought up by a fan involved the future of point guard Kyle Lowry with the Toronto Raptors.

Will Kyle Lowry be a Raptor past the trade deadline?

I’d be surprised. They’ve been aggressive looking for the right deal for him.

Lowry, who’s been having a breakout season with the Toronto Raptors, averaging 16.7 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 7.5 APG, 1.6 SPG, and 2.5 3PM per game (Bolded indicates career high). A season that saw him nearly being named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team. As well as win player of the week honors for January.

However, Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports differently, claiming that the Raptors are exactly doing the opposite of what Chad Ford had said, tweeting:

The Toronto Raptors were originally rumored to be dealing Lowry in December, and rumored to have a deal in place to send the 8th year guard to the New York Knicks in exchange for Raymond Felton, Metta World Peace and a first round pick—before the Knicks backed out.

RealGM has since reported that the Knicks are once again interested in acquiring Kyle Lowry.

John Maudsley gave his take on whether or not the Raptors should be trading Kyle Lowry.
