Blue Jays: Today In Winter Meetings Insanity

I know I shouldn’t do it, but I often can’t resist. I know that they won’t make any sense, contain any logic, or even be sane. But I can’t stop myself. The comments section is the lowest common denominator in human communication. It’s the equivalent of the guttural grunting of caveman when it comes to talking about the Blue Jays.

I know this, yet I persist. I venture into this wilderness often enough that I am rarely surprised by what I see, so it is of note when I read something that almost makes me spit coffee all over my computer monitor.

Without further adieu I present the following:

Sad Face

The above was on an article by Shi Davidi regarding the Blue Jays potential replacement of J.P. Arencibia behind the plate. I just don’t even know what to say to that. J.P. Arencibia, he of a career wRC+ of 76 will slide right on into rightfield (defense be damned) and replace the career 126 wRC+ of Jose Baustista….a flawless plan!

To make matters worse, noted Blue Jays troll Nick Carfado fed fuel to the fire by tweeting the below earlier today.

Of course teams are inquiring about Jose Bautista, but does that mean there is even a remote chance he gets traded this offseason? I don’t think so, but that doesn’t stop tweets like this from feeding the delusions of Jays fans that see a Jose Bautista trade as imminent and the only way to fill the team’s holes.

Just another day in Blue Jay land my friends.
