Maple Leafs

David Clarkson is still trying to carve out a role with the Maple Leafs after missing the first 10 games of the season due to a suspension. [Globe & Mail]

Mark Fraser is healthy and returning to the Leafs line up on Friday night, and that unfortunately means that Morgan Rielly will be taking this one in from the press box. [National Post]

Jerrod Smithson will make his Leafs debut tonight, likely centering Colton Orr and Frazer McLaren. At minimum he’ll be able to hop on the ice and win a few defensive zone faceoffs. [Toronto Sun]

Buffalo Bills

As expected, EJ Manuel will be the likely starter for the Bills on Sunday, officially ending that dark period in all of our lives known as the Jeff Tuel era. [ESPN]

Doug Marrone is feeling good about Marquise Goodwin‘s chances of being active on Sunday against the Steelers. [BuffaloBills.com]

CJ Spiller almost feels back at 100% for the first time in weeks, which is good news for the Bills as his dynamic presence will certainly make EJ Manuel‘s life a lot easier when he returns. [WGR 550]

Raptors

The unspectacular Gerald Henderson looked like a world beater against the Raptors in the first quarter earlier this week, exposing what could be a problem for the Raptors. [Raptors Republic]

Tyler Hansborough is heading back to Indianapolis as the Raptors are set to take on the Pacers, so that’s something to watch I guess? [Toronto Sun]

Raptors fans (yours truly included) turned on Landry Fields rather quickly last year after his disastrous start to the season after being vastly overpaid by Bryan Colangelo. After getting his health issues sorted out, Fields is quickly showing us all why he earned (most of) that money he was given. [Globe & Mail]

Blue Jays

Marcus Stroman pitched last night in the AFL, and I’m not sure if you heard but it was rather spectacular. It’s officially at the point where if he doesn’t break Spring Training with our big league club I’ll be sad. [DJF]

The Blue Jays may have been catastrophically disappointing in 2013, but there are still reasons for hope heading into the 2014 season. [The Province]

After all he did for the club in 2013, is it possible that the Blue Jays will non-tender Esmil Rogers? [Jays Journal]
