Maple Leafs

Tyler Bozak has made “We Can’t Stop” by Miley Cyrus the Toronto Maple Leafs victory song for the season thus far, finally I have a reason not to hate Tyler Bozak! [Toronto Star]

The Toronto Maple Leafs have gotten by this season with a little luck and a lot of goaltending, but the needs to play better if they’re going to keep winning. One thing that may help? The return of two of their better possession players in Nikolai Kulemin and David Clarkson from injury/suspension, returning some depth to the Leafs forwards. [National Post]

While it’s still early, there are probably around 29 other teams in the NHL that are kicking themselves for not taking a flyer on Leafs forward Mason Raymond. With 8 points already, Raymond is proving he is quite easily worth his $1-million contract. [National Post]

Buffalo Bills

Kiko Alonso has been a pleasant surprise for the Bills so far this season, and he could be well on his way to the defensive rookie of the year award. [NFL.com]

Thad Lewis returns to Miami to face his hometown Dolphins as the quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, looking to prove to the world that he belongs under center in the NFL. [Miami Herald]

CJ Spiller says his injured ankle is on the cusp of being 100%, which is good news for the Bills who need their star running back taking more than 10 carries a game. [BuffaloBills.com]

Raptors

Of all the professional sports, the NBA’s preseason might just be the worst, and that’s saying something. Despite the general awfulness of the basketball it was cool to see Toronto native Kelly Olnyk return home as a member of the Boston Celtics last night. [TSN]

Dwight Buycks was not an NBA prospect after his college career ended, so he headed over to Europe and developed his game. [National Post]

Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays appear to be on the cusp of hiring a new hitting coach, in former Royals hitting coach Kevin Seitzer. I would comment on whether it’s a good or bad hire but I still have no idea what these guys really do so I’ll just wait and see what happens. [Jays Journal]

The Blue Jays “Ball Park” pass will return again next season, but only if you held one for this season. The rest of us will have to pay for the actual value of the seats. [Bluebird Banter]
