The Toronto Maple Leafs face off against their newest Atlantic Division Rival the Detroit Red Wings for the first time in their 7th game of the preseason. The game is the first leg of a back-to-back that wraps up the preseason for both teams. These games should provide the most entertaining action of the preseason as both teams will be nearing their final cuts, although with it being a back-to-back, each team will likely choose to rest many regulars on the away leg of the series.
The Leafs will be without Phil Kessel who was given the
luxury punishment of missing the team’s final preseason dates, but will be able to utilize David Clarkson whom will miss the first 10 games of the regular season because…I actually have no idea why. It will be interesting to see if these games affect how the Leafs go about their final cuts as the David Clarkson suspension has opened up a roster spot, but not the corresponding salary cap space that is really needed.
Repeat after me everyone, only two more games…we only have to watch this garbage disguised as hockey for two more games.
Projected Line Up:
(21) van Riemsdyk – (42) Bozak – (71) Clarkson
(46) Broll – (43) Kadri – (12) Raymond
(19) Lupul – (63) Bolland – (41) Kulemin
