The Buffalo Bills head to the Meadowlands to face the NY Jets on Sunday. Both of the AFC East rivals are 1-1 on the season, each losing to the hands of the New England Patriots.
The Bills have been unusually unlucky on the injury front this season, most notably in their secondary, which has been missing 3 of thier top players through the first 2-weeks. Of all of the Bills walking wounded (listed below), only Safety Jairus Bird, and Offensive Lineman Doug Legursky were able to practice this week, albeit in a limited manner.
Despite his ability to practice this week, Legursky’s status for Sunday is not in question as he was listed as Out for the trip to New York. After being listed as doubtful through the first two weeks of the season (25% chance of playing) and failing to make an appearance, Jairus Byrd has been upgraded to Questionable for Sunday’s tilt, which means the Bills franchise safety has a 50% of making his season debut on Sunday.
The return of Byrd would bring welcome reinforcements to the Bills’ secondary that is also missing Ron Brooks and Stephon Gilmore, although the Jets passing offence isn’t exactly the most prolific in the NFL at present time.
Fingers crossed that the Bills will be able to make it through a Sunday without being dealt a blow by the injury bug!
