The Buffalo Bills face off against “Superman” Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Ralph Wilson Satadium in Orchard Park, New York. Both the Bills and Panthers are coming off of tough Week 1 losses to teams that are considered among the NFL’s elite.
Buffalo, coming off of their Week 1 loss to the Patriots are looking to defend their home turf, two straight losses at home to start the season would be disastrous to their already slim hopes for the playoffs.
E.J. Manuel, C.J. Spiller and the rest of their supporting cast on the Bills offense is in tough against a stingy Carolina defense that held the explosive Seahawks to just 12 points in Week 1. In order for the Bills to offense to break out, they must allow their rookie QB to stretch the Panthers defense with some intermediate and deep throws to give Spiller the room he needs to make the plays that we know he can.
Cam Newton is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL, and the Bills defensive line will have to be on top of their games if they hope to contain him. Unlike with Tom Brady, whom the d-line could just concentrate on trying to get on his back, Newton will have to be contained, as he legs are as big of a threat as his arm.
Apparently Cam Newton agrees!
