Maple Leafs

The always enjoyable James Mirtle gives us 5 things to keep an eye on as Leafs training camp progresses [Globe & Mail]

Paul Ranger seems genuinely ecstatic to be returning to the NHL following a prolonged absence due to personal reasons. The larger and mobile defenseman spent all last year with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. I look forward to what he can do now that he’s with the big club. [National Post]

Mirtle was working overtime yesterday as the Leafs opened camp as he gives us his projection of what the Toronto Maple Leafs line up will look like when the season opens. [Globe & Mail]

While Toronto’s top 6 forward spots are pretty much written in stone heading into training camp, the same can’t be said about the bottom 6, Tim Bayer takes a look at how it might all shake out. [Editor In Leaf]

Buffalo Bills

As of yesterday the Buffalo Bills had 1,600 tickets remaining for Sunday’s match up with the Carolina Panthers. With the Thursday at 1pm blackout deadline looming, lets hope that they sell fast so we can actually watch this thing on tv. []

The Bills have released Jay Ross, add Johnny Adams to active roster in a minor move. [Buffalo Rumblings]

The marijuana possession charges against Bills linebacker Nigel Bradham provided he stays out of trouble for six months. [Fox Sports]

C.J. Spiller has vowed to get back on track Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, something easier said than done against the Panthers athletic front 7. [WGR 550]

Blue Jays

Richard Griffin thinks that the Blue Jays mishandled Ricky Romero, saying the left-hander is “sensitive”. I think that Ricky Romero pitched terribly and if he didn’t want people saying that he maybe shouldn’t have been so bad at his job. [The Star]

Looking for a diamond in the rough, L.B. Dantzler is showing some potential very early in his minor league career [Jays Journal]

Josh Johnson’s agent is under the impression that he’s still going to get some (relatively) big money, so all of us Jays fans hoping to bring him back on a bargain better get ready for what he’s going to get. [DJF]

Eurobasket 2013 is still chugging along, and Jonas Valanciunas and the Lithuanian Men’s team faced off against France in 2nd round action. [Raptors Republic]

Former Toronto Mayor, and now former TFC superfan David Miller ripped the team a new one (rightly) over the unbelievably inept management that has destroyed a once model organization. [The Star]

I remember not so long ago, when every trip down to BMO field was an experience. The stadium was sold out, and the crowd was raucous. I took a trip down to BMO to take in last nights TFC-Chicago Fire match, and it was almost embarrassing. The announced attendance was something like 18,000 but if there were 10,000 people in the stands I would be surprised…TFC ended up with the draw by the way, not that it matters at this point. [TSN]
