Blue Jays

Stoeten once again hijacks Richard Griffin’s Mailbag from over at The Star, because really what else can you do in a season like this? [DJF]

Ricky Romero is looking to end his frustrating 2013 on a high note now that he’s back in the Majors with the Jays. September numbers should be taken with a grain of salt, but how Ricky performs could play largely into his future with the club. [Toronto Star]

The Blue Jays have won 5 of 6 and 7 of 9, playing their way out of a protected draft pick but not even close to playing themselves back into contention, just like we all know they would. [Globe & Mail]

ICMYI: Over at Grantland it was the Bills turn to be previewed podcast style by Robert Mays and Bill Barnwell. Just a heads up…it’s not pretty. [Grantland]

Have you heard? EJ Manuel is going to start Week 1 for the Bills! Tuel Time is officially (mercifully) over. [ToT]

It’s time to set your fantasy lineups, and if you have any Bills players in the line up you better check this out! [Buffalo Rumblings]

Everything you need to know heading into Week 1 against the Patriots. [Buffalo Rumblings]

Maple Leafs

It looks like the Toronto Maple Leafs brain trust might have a skewed view of player worth when it comes to their RFAs, insinuating that the salary cap is not an issue for signing both Nazem Kadri and Cody Franson. In what world both of these guys can be signed for a combined $4.8-million is a magical place I would like to visit. [National Post]

“Hey James Reimer, are you okay with being a back-up or are you going to fight for the #1 position”- Inane things that get asked at the Leafs Charity Golf Tournament []

Are the Toronto Raptors being overlooked in the Eastern Conference? While they’re clearly a level below the Top 5 teams in the East (Miami, Indiana, Chicago, Brooklyn and New York), I don’t see any reason that they can’t surprise people with the skill they have and make the playoffs. [Hoops World]

Reminder to head over to Raptors Republic and vote in their Raptors Rebrand Bracket. [Raptors Republic]

The Argos fell in their first game with Ricky Ray on the sidelines, falling 20-9 to the Calvillo-less Alouettes Tuesday night in Toronto. [CBC]
