The Buffalo Bills have announced that EJ Manuel will be the club’s starting quarterback Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium for their Week 1 matchup against the New England Patriots.

The news comes among speculation that Manuel may not have been able to make the start due to a knee injury that he sustained during the Bill’s first preseason game.
The rookie out of Florida state came into the preseason locked in a battle with Kevin Kolb to be the Bills starter. Manuel looked to have the early lead in the battle before his injury. After being essentially handed the reigns to the offense, Kolb suffered a concussion, which could be career ending, throwing the QB situation into disarray.
Due to the injuries to Manuel and Kevin Kolb, there was a possibility that Jeff Tuel would be the first undrafted rookie quarterback to start Week 1 in the modern era of the NFL.
Bills fans have to thank their lucky stars that Manuel is good to go. Tuel time with the Patriots was bound to get ugly, but with Manuel starting things just got a whole lot more interesting
